Mr. Roger Wayne Silvers, of Eubank, Kentucky passed away on Friday, July 5, 2024, at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, having attained the age of 76 years, 8 months and 27 days.
He was born in Burnside, Kentucky on Thursday, October 9, 1947, the son of the late Chester and Vina (New) Silvers. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of West Ridge Baptist Church in South Amherst, Ohio, where he was a deacon for many years. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Lorain, Ohio in 1998. In his free time, he enjoyed talking about Jesus, farming, watching westerns, and spending time with his family, especially his little man, Phoenix.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Randy Silvers, and sister Jewel (and brother-in-law, Luid) Turpin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Rena Mae Silvers, his children, Curtis (and Pam) Silvers, Bobby (and Angie) Silvers, Pam Silvers (wife of the late Randy Silvers). His grandchildren, Cindy (and TJ) Criswell, Sherry (and Danny) Saunders, Shelly Silvers, Curtis Silvers II., Michael Silvers, Ranee (and Bradley) Ralston, Rena (and Isaac) Bumgardner, McKenzie (and Zac) Barbee, step-grandchildren, Tyler Hellums, Airon Bain, great-grandchildren, Ava Saunders, Luke Saunders, Jax Saunders, Phoenix Criswell, Kayson LeHota, siblings, Marilyn (and Glen) Phillips, Jack (and Mary) Silvers, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was loved by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Mr. Roger Wayne Silvers.
