Josephine Lou Coffey, age 85, of Somerset, Ky passed from this life on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Josephine was born on February 4, 1939 to the late Odus Reynolds and Mary Lena Cottrell Marcum in New Castle, Indiana.
She was a member of West Somerset Baptist Church. She previously worked at Palm Beach and retired from Walmart. She loved Cracker Barrell and was a people person.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Beecher Reynolds, Donald Reynolds and stepson, Earnest Coffey.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband, James Coffey, daughter, Angela Thompson of Somerset, Ky. granddaughter, Lauren Thompson (Joshua Calman) of Louisville, Ky; stepson, Jason Coffey of Somerset, Ky; stepdaughter, Lisa Coffey Phelps (Doug) of Bronston, Ky; brothers: Jack Reynolds of OH and Arnold Reynolds (Toby) of TN; sisters: Viola Graves of Science Hill, Ky; Ora Faulooner (Joe) of FL; Remonia Spoonamore (Glenn) of Stanford, Ky; Linda Norris (Zack) of Science Hill, Ky; along with step grandchildren: Kyle Coffey, Kaylee Coffey, Raven Phelps and Jaylee Phelps.
Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 4pm Bro. David Muse officiating. Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brian Whitaker, Michael Whitaker, Samuel Whitaker, Joshua Calman, Steven Spoonamore, Jason Coffey and Kyle Coffey. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Josephine Lou Coffey.
Prayers for this family. She was my next door neighbor when I was six. Her daughter is my BFF.
