Jerry Wayne Karriker Jr., age 64, of Eubank, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at the UK Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.
Jerry was born on February 22, 1959 to the late Jerry W. Karriker Sr. and Shirlee Stephenson in Covington, Kentucky.
He was of the Baptist faith and attended Pollyann Baptist Church. He was a member of American Legion Post #38, he proudly served 8 years in the United States Air Force as a Drill Instructor and Presidential Honor Guard. He was a Transport Deputy for Pulaski Co. Coroner’s Office, Pulaski EMT, Pulaski Co. Rescue Squad and Fire Instructor for KCTCS. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Sr. and Shirlee Stephenson and brother, Troy Karriker.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his daughter, Violet Karriker of Texas, brothers, Danny Karriker (Joy) of Eubank, Ky and Stephen Karriker of Union, Ky.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 5-8pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 at 2pm with Bro. Chuck Godby and Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating. Burial will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Full Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Honor Guard Post #38. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Jerry Wayne Karriker Jr.
Went to school with Jerry. We lost contact as we left school but he will be greatly missed by friends and family. I am so sorry for your loss. Prayers to the family.
We met Jerry when we moved from Michigan to Waynesburg. We learned so much from Jerry and he was the reason we joined the rescue squad. RIP my friend. I’m sure you and Rich are catching up.

I met Jerry 6 years ago during our work! He was like the gentle giant, a man of so much kindness and a very humble man. Prayers for God to comfort his Brother Dan and all the Family! Rest on my Friend until we get together again in the splendors of Heaven!
I met him some years back the man shined a light everywhere he had a heart bigger then most he will be missed by all who knew him
