William C. “Bill” Phelps, age 71, of Shopville, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Bill was born on December 15, 1951 to the late William Stanley Phelps and Glenda Bray Phelps in Somerset, Kentucky.

He attended New Heart Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, woodworking and worked for Crane Factory for 32 years.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William and Glenda Phelps and granddaughter, Zoey Bray. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Shelley Phelps, sons, Barry Phelps (Jody), Caleb Freeman (Sandy), Maverick Hodge all of Somerset, Ky and Carl Bray of TN; daughters, Carla Wells (Craig) and Savannah Phelps of Somerset, Ky; brother, Gary Phelps of Somerset, Ky; sisters, Sue France of TN; Dorothy Canada of Somerset, Ky; Pearl Albright (Danny) of Science Hill, Ky; grandchildren, Conner Phelps, Riley Wells, Camryn Heddings (Josiah), Karmin Freeman, Jasmyn Freeman, Ava Freeman, Elizabeth Nix and Chloe Bray; along with special friend, Anthony Lowe and a host of friends and family.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2023 from 12-2 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 2 P.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Rick Lawson and Bro. Greg Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Thickett Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for William C. “Bill” Phelps.
