Douglas “Randy” Holman, age 79, of Bronston, Kentucky, passed from this life on Friday, February 17, 2023 at his home.
Douglas was born on December 14, 1943 to James Holman and Susie Jones Holman in Harlan, Kentucky.
He was a member of The New Life Church of God faith, he enjoyed fishing on Lake Cumberland, boating, cooking and gardening. He worked at Tecumseh and Worldwide Equipment for many years. He loved his Church family and cherished his family.
Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, James and Susie Holman, infant sister, Linda Holman, brothers Gerald Holman, Kerry Holman, infant brothers, Ronald and Donald Holman.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 59 years, Shirley Holman, sons, Barry (Myra) Holman of Somerset, Ky; Jason (Leah) Holman of Henderson, TN; Anthony (Crystal) Holman of Richmond, Ky; daughter, Vonda (David) Lockard of Somerset, Ky; brothers, Wayne (Annaleen) Holman, Stan (Rita) Holman, sisters, Pat (Elijah) Rogers and Merrilee Holman; grandchildren, Andrew, Kierstin, Ashley, Christian, Tyler, Kalie, Kennedy, Dylan, Savannah; along with great-grandchildren, Jayden, Brenson, Eliza and Ellis.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 5 to 8 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 12 P.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Doug Walden officiating. Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Douglas R. Holman.

Randy. I looked forward to greeting him and his lovely wife Shirley after service. It was a joy to see him come in pushing his way even though you knew that he didn’t feel like it but he was faithful. My prayers and condolences to all the family. Please accept our sincere sympathy to all of the family. We sure thought a lot of Randy. Always enjoyed seeing him and Stan and Wayne, and Pat and Marilee and others at various reunions. Carla and I pray for Gods comfort in the days ahead!
