Anne Harper, age 89, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her home.
Anne was born on October 30, 1933 to the late Alonzo Hood and Alma Bullock Hood in Bloss, Kentucky.
She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, tending to her garden and loved her furbaby “Rosie” and most of all she cherished her family.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Alma Hood, her husband of 25 years, Paul Harper, son, Jerry Harper, brothers, Lance Hood, Bill Hood and Bobby Hood, sisters, Grace Russell, Georgia Russell, Wanda VanHook, Velma Dean Cromer and Doris Ping.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her sons, Jeff (Rosa) Harper and Jamie (Shona) Harper all of Somerset, Ky; daughter, Paula (Ray) Bumgardner also of Somerset, Ky; grandchildren, Ethan and Aaron Harper, Crystal, Jacob, Jared (Megan) and Hunter Harper, Patience (Jimmy) Miller, Bridget (T.J.) Bechard, Ashley (David) Cobler, great-grandchildren, Maryann (Jacob) Smith, Tyler Miller, Sawndraya (Jeremy) Silvers, James Miller, Travis (Peyton) Bechard, Jade Bradley (Austin McGuire), Nicole Bechard, Calob Bechard, Samuel, Braeylin, Halei and Faith Cobler, great-great grandchildren, Asher Bechard, Bryant, Jaxson and Aubrey McGuire, Kelsey, Keyanna and Kambree Silvers; along with Peanut Baby to be, Bechard.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 6 to 8 P. M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Jesse McCoy and Bro. Kevin Bullock officiating. Burial will follow in the Barnesburg Cemetery. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Anne Harper.

Paula, Jeff, and Jamie, Anne was a formidable woman! I admired her spunk and her spirit! You all have a bit of her in you.
