Shirley Mae Bowling age 81, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Saturday, February 13, 2021 at UK Hospital in Lexington.
Shirley was born August 12, 1939 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Carl Burns and Nelly Mae Swartz Burns.
She was a member of Campground Baptist Church of Somerset and enjoyed camping, flower gardening, family gatherings, but most of all spending time with family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Nelly Burns, her husband, John Bowling, daughter, Sherry Ann Bowling Edmon, brother, Joe Burns.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Ricky Bowling (Jody) of Monticello, brother, Tommy Burns (Marilyn) of Somerset, sister, Margaret Calder (Don) of Somerset, grandchildren, Nathan Bowling, Josh Edmon (Andrea), Shawnda Edmon and great-grandchildren, Brayden Edmon and Bella Edmon.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 19, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 P.M. with Bro. Gerald Ashley officiating, burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
