Douglas M. Holt, age 77 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

He was born on March 17, 1942 in Punkin Center, Kentucky, son of the late William Walter and Anna Roberts Holt.

He attended Harmony Fellowship Baptist Church, was a truck driver for Garner Transportation, and had worked at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital until his retirement. He was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed watching Cincinnati Reds Baseball. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James Holt and Roscoe Holt, sisters Betty Moon, Geneva Burdine, Pauline Latham, Bessie Holt and Mary Blanch Holt, three half brothers, Charles Holt, Curtis Holt and Merle Holt.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Holt, three daughters, Patricia (James) Ard of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Janie (Bill) Denham of Somerset and Jennifer (Jim) Hess of Berea, sister, Ruth Gill, grandchildren, Jaret (Emily) Ard, Billy Jr (Sarah) Denham, Jonathan (Kaitlyn) Denham, Shane (Nikki) Denham, Zachary Hess, Ashley (Daniel) Cooley and Kaleigh Hess, sixteen great-grandchildren, Paige, Seth, Eli, Summer, Cohen, Mallorie, Macie, Maddie Jo, Grant, Drew, Aubree, Laikyn, Landree, Bodhi, Hudson and Tyson, and one great-grandchild, Ezra.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Owens and Bro. Earl Owens officiating. Burial will be in Gilmore Cemetery in Somerset.
