William “Bill” Shelton, age 62, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on December 7, 1956 in Somerset, son of the late Bernard and Patricia Mace Shelton.
Bill was a retired jeweler and was the former owner of Cumberland Jewelers and Shelton Jewelers. He was a member of Somerset First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, William Kyle Shelton; daughter-in-law, Lesley Jean Cox Shelton; sister, Lillian Rebecca Shelton and a special aunt and uncle, Carroll and Charlotte Crawford.
He is survived by three grandchildren, William Evan Shelton, Macey Shelton and Madison Kelly Shelton and one brother, Clay Matthew Shelton of Bowling Green.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February, 15, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral service to be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Bro. Jason Moore officiating.
Interment will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery with full military honors provided by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the William “Bill” Shelton Memorial Fund, C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for William “Bill” Shelton.
So sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. I lived near him and went to school with him. He was a great guy!

Bill was a good friend of my son and myself Yrs ago we have a lot of good memories of Bill he always had a big smile when we would meet.
Very sorry for your loss. Bill was a good friend to me. He was always so funny and friendly to everyone. I worked with him years ago.Kyle was only 3 at the time and Bill talked about him all the time and was so proud of him.
