Luis Fernando Orantes

Luis Fernando Orantes, age 29, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 in Burkesville.

He was born on July 27, 1988 in Guatemala to Maria Orantes.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he worked extensively with the missionaries at church. He enjoyed traveling and cooking. Fernando was very fluent in English and Spanish and worked to help translate for the Union.

He is survived by his mother; Maria Orantes, a brother; Christopher Orantes of Somerset and a sister; Heidi Orantes of Somerset, his cousins who were like his siblings; Lesly Diana Carlos and Laura Denise Carlos. He also leaves behind many family members, including his grandparents who live in Guatemala.

Fernando stayed in Guatemala for several years until he was able to join his mother in the United States. While staying in Guatemala, he was raised by Maria Del Carmen Ballesteros, Elsa Leticia Solares Orantes and Karla Yessenia Monterroso.

Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home, 2110 W. Hwy 914, Somerset, Kentucky, 42503.  Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home with President Michael Goleman officiating.

Interment will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.

Él nació el 27 de julio, 1988 en Guatemala de Maria Orantes.

Fernando vivió en Guatemala por varios años hasta que él pudo reunirse con su madre en los EE/UU. Mientras vivió en Guatemala, fue criado por María Del Carmen Ballesteros, Elsa Leticia Solares Orantes, y Karla Yessinia Monterroso.

La visitación será a las 11:00 a.m. el Sábado, 14 de julio, 2018 en la Capilla de Southern Oaks Funeral Home, 2110 W. Hwy 914, Somerset, Kentucky, 42503. El Funeral será oficiado a las 11:30 a.m. el Sábado en la funeraria por el Presidente Michael Goleman.

Será enterrado en el Cementerio de Southern Oaks.
