JoAnna Denney, age 75, of Russell Springs, Kentucky, formerly of the Brammer Hill Community of Wayne County, passed from this life on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.
She was born on April 14, 1942 in Wayne County, daughter of the late R. L. Denney and Opal Marie New Denney.
She was a Retired AT & T and Western Electric employee after several years of dedicated service. JoAnna was a loving Mother and Grandmother who enjoyed reading, sewing, collecting angels and spending time with her family and friends and her little doggie “Angel”. She was of the Baptist Faith and will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents she is preceded in death by a granddaughter; Priscia Lee Rose and a nephew; Jonathan Cook
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three daughters; Pamela Keith of Monticello, Kentucky, Kimberly (Tony) Garst of McCordsville, Indiana and Priscilla (Dick) Rose of Fortville, Indiana, a brother; Will Denney of St. Louis, Missouri, sisters; Loretta Denney, Wanda (James) Simpson and Kaye (Wayne) Stepp all of the Brammer Hill Community in Wayne County, Ruth Taylor of San Antonio, Texas and Teresa Cook of Pall Mall Tennessee, nine grandchildren; Lauren (Daniel) Stoddard, Amanda Garst (Adam – Fianc’ee), Austin Rose, Nigel Burton, Michael (Katie) Garst, Riana (Jimmy) Slavey, Galvin Rose and Haiden Rose, two great-grandchildren; Dalayna Stoddard and Larissa Slavey and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m on Friday, April 13, 2018 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. The Funeral Service was held at 2:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Scott Thrasher officiating. Private interment was held at the Elk Springs Cemetery in Monticello, Kentucky.
