Dorothy Mildred Stogsdill Mounce, born November 5, 1922, entered into eternal rest on November 24, 2017 at her residence.
She was of the Baptist faith and loved to take long walks and go fishing and dancing with her late husband George. She liked playing card games, playing bingo and reading her Bible.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Josiah and Nora Stogsdill, husband George William Mounce, who she married on June 9, 1947 in Jamestown, Kentucky; and three (3) children; son Gary A Mounce and daughters Regina Ann Mounce Eggers and Nora Jane Mounce Coffelt. Also preceding her in death are eight(8) siblings; Ermil, Orville, Sarah Edna, Doris, Nora Elma,Joseph Arnold, Othnal and Olive.
She is survived by a sister Mary Stogsdill Mounce and brother Okel (and Zora) Stogsdill; four(4) children; Charles (and Virginia) Mounce, Janet (and Blake) Mullins, Ronald (and Jayne) Mounce, and Carolyn (and Frank) Christian; 9 grandchildren, Christopher Mullins, Nicholas Mullins, Blake Edward (and Rhonda) Mullins, Melissa (and Shane) Francis, Angela Mounce, Dana (and Dwight) Troxtell, Richard Eggers, Douglas Eggers, and David Eggers and several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mrs. Mounce will be Tuesday November 28, 2017 from 11 to 2 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 P.M. with Bro. Lonnie Sewell officiating. Interment will follow at Whetstone Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to the Dorothy Mounce Memorial Fund at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
She leaves a great void in the lives of her family and friends and she will be missed greatly by all.
