Oreida Mae Sears Freeman, age 78, of Somerset passed from this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
She was born on August 6, 1938 in Ferguson, Kentucky, daughter of the late James Edwin Sears and Betty Lenora Kittrell Sears. She was a Retired Hostess of the Modern Vending Company of Somerset. Oreida was member of Calvary Baptist Church, an avid U. K. fan and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She always looked forward to celebrating special events with her friends especially Carol Woehler who was a close friend. Oreida was a kind and loving Mother, and Grandmother and will be missed by those who loved her. She is the widow of the late George Freeman, whom she married on April 15, 1978 in Somerset, Kentucky he preceded her in death.
Besides her parents, and her Husband, she was preceded in death by her Sons; Russell Taylor and Terry Wayne Taylor, Brothers; James Richard Sears, Zane Jefferson Sears, Samuel Paul Sears and her Step-Mother: Dorothy Sears.
She is survived by her son; Charlie Taylor of Somerset, Brothers; Robert Newell and (Edeltraut) Sears and Lemuel Edwin and (Linda) Sears all of Cincinnati, Ohio, Frank Marion and (Crystal) Sears of Georgia, Michael Ray and (Vanessa) Sears of Somerset and Steven Dale and (Deidra) Sears of Richmond, Kentucky, Sisters; Norma Jean and (Lonnie) Girdler, Wanda Harbor, and Joann Kay Norton all of Somerset. Two grandchildren; Dustin Wayne Taylor, and Nicole Lee Taylor and (Tim) along with two great-grandchildren; Abigail Nicole and Sydney Elizabeth Henderson.
Family and Friends will gather for visitation at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 26, 2017 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with the Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky
