Betty Sue Carter Hines, age 84, of Eubank passed away on Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1932 to the late Sterling Lawson and Ada Lee Barnett Carter.

Betty was an avid lifelong U.K. fan. She cheered for her beloved “Cats” from a very young age while listening to the games on the car radio long before they were broadcast on television. She loved to share a joke and laugh, with a little music and dancing thrown in for good measure. The brightest joy in her life was her family. We will always treasure the good times shared and the wonderful memories made and cherished across the years.  She was a member of Mill Springs Christian Church.

Betty is preceded in death by both of her parents, her previous husband; Vernon Shadoan, Son; Vernon Shadoan Jr. (In infancy) Brother; Robert Leonard Carter and a Sister; Louise Brown, Brothers in law; John Patton and Bob Brown

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband; Tommy Hines of Eubank, her beloved Daughters; Jeanette Withers of Eubank and Tresa Verlene (Dennis) Holt of Somerset, Brother; Bob Carter of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Sisters;  Joyce Patton, June and (Kenneth) Ramsey all of Monticello, and Patricia  and (Chuck) Hallman of Palm Harbor, Florida. Here grandchildren; John R. Withers, II of Huntsville, Alabama, Joshua Lee Holt of Pasadena, Maryland and Jana Sue and (David) Guffey of Somerset, Great-grandchildren; Michael and (Jessica) Shepherd and Jordan Withers, and a Great-great-grandchild; Alayna Shepherd along with a Sister-in-law; Mildred Carter of Nashville, Tennessee and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be John Withers, John Withers, II, Joshua Holt, Michael Shepherd, Dennis Holt and David Guffey. 

Visitation will be at 11:00 a. m. on Saturday, May 27, 2017 with the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Elder Winston Osborne officiating.  Interment will be in the Mill Springs Christian Church Cemetery, in the Touristville Community of Wayne County.
