_{Mrs. Alfreda Foster Stringer, age 79, of Somerset, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family.}

_{She was born on October 28, 1937 in Vinnie, Kentucky, daughter of the late Dewey Fayette and Dorothy Jane Ard Foster.  Alfreda was a retired Salesclerk for Goody’s Department and the old Watson’s Store with over 34 years of dedicated service.   She was married to the late Dale Stringer in Ringgold, Georgia on November 14, 1957.  Her greatest passions included cooking, quilting, sewing, crocheting, puzzle books, clogging, playing the piano and guitar. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and especially reading her bible. Alfreda was a loving and devoted Mother and grandmother.  Her radiant smile will be missed by those who knew and loved her.  She was a member of the Ringgold Methodist Church. Alfreda was also an active member of Woodmen of the World and Backwoods Outdoorsman Club.}

_{She is survived by her loving children; Beverly (Gary) Hargis, Reggie (Linda) Stringer, Wm. Garnet (Linda) Stringer, Randall F. Stringer, Cindy (Mark) Sloan all of Somerset and Jay (Chasity) Stringer of Norris, Tennessee. Her siblings; Chestena (Virgil) Childers, Elvin, (Katie) Foster, Delvin (Lois) Foster, Jimmy (Suzie) Foster, Benny (Mary Lou) Foster, and Roger Foster; Sisters in law; Donna Jean and Gladys Foster all of Somerset.  Grandchildren; Christopher Hargis, Aaron (Faye) Hargis, Andrea Stringer, Shawn (Sara) Stringer, Miranda (Kenny) Lyons, Nicholas Taylor, Jaylynn Stringer, John Stringer, China Sloan, Cody Stringer and Bailey Stringer; her great-grandchildren; Gavin, Sara, Sadie, and Isaac Hargis, Sebastian and Kadence Lyons, Ariah Jackson and Savannah Sloan.  Special people that helped care for her; Janie Strunk, Linda Moyer, Donna Marie Foster along with a host of other relatives and friends.}

_{Alfreda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, sisters; Jewell Calhoun, Cathern Eloise, brothers; William Jerry Foster and Delmer Foster and Brother in law; Curt Calhoun. Great-grandchildren Eagan and Kieran Hargis, Christopher Kearney and Lori Ann Doppelheuer and son in law; David Taylor.}

_{Visitation will be on Sunday, May 7, 2017 beginning at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Ben Mitchell officiating.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Gideon’s Memorial Bible Fund.}
