Mary M. Coffey, age 82, of Bronston, passed from this life on October 5, 2016, at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.

Mary was born on September 3, 1934, in Albany, daughter of the late Lewis and Sophia Pennicuff Rigney.  She was a member of the Wayne County High School Graduating Class of 1955.  Mary received a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Business.  She retired as Deli Manager for Food Fair Grocery, of Somerset.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Mary loved quilting and reading her Bible.  She was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church, and loved her church family.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (and husband, Douglas) Phelps, of Somerset; her sister, Pauline Brown, of Wayne County; her grandchildren, Tabatha Phelps and Raven Phelps; and her great-grandchildren, Charli Aguirre, Jaylee Phelps and Jasmine Scott.

Preceding Mary in death are her parents; her son, Ernest Coffey; her brother, Felix Rigney; and her sisters, Tina Sharpe and Lois Gosser.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 8, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, after the visitation, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Gary Phelps and Sister Vonda Van Ostrand officiating.  Burial will be in the Old Charity Cemetery, in Wayne County.
