Ira Leslie “Les” Francis, age 76, of Woodstock, passed from this life on Friday, September 09, 2016, at his home.

Les was born in Tazewell, Tennessee, in June 19, 1940, son of the late Johnny and Mary Manning Francis.  He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving his country in the Vietnam War. He worked as an appliance technician.  Les loved to fish and was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, in Tazewell, Tennessee.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Henderson Francis; his son, John (and wife, Kimberly) Francis, of Missouri; his step-daughter, Jackie Beaty, of Woodstock; his brother, Wayne (and wife, Fern) Francis, of Tazewell; his sisters, Anita (and husband, David) Lyons, of Georgetown, and Betty Jo Peters, of Morehead; three grandchildren, Madalyn (and husband, Jacob) Hendrickson, of Missouri, Tristan Francis, of Missouri, and special granddaughter, Sarah Beaty, of Woodstock; and one great-grandchild, Jael Hendrickson.

Les is preceded in death by his parents.

In accordance to Les’ wishes, a cremation was performed.
