Maggie Maude Griffis, age 44, of Somerset, passed from this life on Sunday, August 7, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center
Maggie was born on December 14, 1971, in Somerset, daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Katherine Branum Cook. She was a member of the Pulaski High School Graduating Class of 1990. Maggie worked formerly as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant for Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was a caretaker to many and was the peacemaker of the family. She loved spending time with her great-nieces and great-nephews; and “we will all miss her smile and laughter”. Maggie was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her daughter, Alisha Griffis, of Somerset; her brother, Ronnie (and Katie) Cook, of Somerset; her sisters, Cindy (and Jesse) Cook, Bonnie Cook and Mae (and Ricky) Allen, all of Somerset; her grandson, Jackson Phelps; her nephews, Brandon Adams, Robert Allen and Chris Brock; her nieces, Katie Phelps, Marcia Brock, Danielle Stewart, Lora Cook, Melissa Bhatti, Whitney Wheet and Destiny Allen; and several aunts, uncles, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding Maggie in death are her parents; her sister, Jane Raisor; and her great-niece, Keyleygh Pritchard.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, after 6:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at 1:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Mike Stacey officiating. Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
