Dale Burton, age 63, of Nancy, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Dale was born April 19, 1953, to Clarence and Ina Burton. He married Birtha Stephens on March 12, 1971, in Tennessee.

He did backhoe work and was a farmer, until he became disabled in 1999. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his family. Dale also enjoyed coon hunting and watching Kentucky Wildcats play basketball with his son-in-law, Billy. He was of the Baptist faith, dedicating his life to the Lord fifteen years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Birtha Burton; his mother, Ina Burton; one daughter, Marsha (and Billy) Dugger, of Nancy; one son, Eddie Dale Burton, of Nancy; three grandchildren, Dakota, Seara and Logan Dugger, all of Nancy; three brothers, Darrell (and Pamela) Burton, Lawrence Burton and David (and Candi) Burton, all of Nancy; and three sisters, Clarine (and Danny) Stephens, of Nancy, Christine (and Jerry) Pyles, of Somerset, and Lisa (and Ronnie) Hall, also of Somerset.

Dale is preceded in death by his father, Clarence “Tanky” Burton; and two sisters, Freda Gibson and Daphene Lockard.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Greg Lockard officiating.

Musical selections will be performed by Danny Stephens.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, in Nancy. Pallbearers will be Eddie Burton, Dakota Wilson, Jamie Burton, Mikey Burton, Billy Dugger and Marsha Dugger.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Memory of Dale Burton through Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
