Connie Gilliam, age 71, of Monticello, passed from this life on Saturday, April 23, 2016, at her home.

Connie was born in New Castle, Indiana, on June 13, 1944, daughter of the late Silas and Agatha Lawson Saylor. She met William “Frank” Gilliam at the Triangle Bar and Grill, of Greenville, Ohio. They were married on January 30, 1964, in Selma, Indiana. Connie was a homemaker, who had worked as office manager for Winn Dixie Grocery Stores, and had graduated from Amber Beauty College of Muncie, Indiana. She enjoyed bowling and fishing; gardening and canning the foods that came from her garden. Connie enjoyed arts and crafts, especially quilting.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Toni Michelle Gilliam.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, William Franklin “Frank” Gilliam, Sr.; their sons, William Franklin “Frank” Gilliam, II, of Monticello, and Travis Scott (and Sondra) Gilliam, of Greenwood, Indiana; her brother, David M. (and Glenda), of Dallas, Texas; her sisters, Almalee Eavenson, of Springport, Indiana, and Deanna Whitton, of New Castle, Indiana; her three grandchildren, Bradley Gilliam, Alex Gilliam and Courtney Gilliam (and Brandon Tate); and her great-granddaughter, Aria Rose Tate.

A private Memorial Service will be held by her family in Indiana, at a later date.
