Weylan Gerald Daulton, age 78, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Thursday April 21, 2016 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Weylan was born on March 10, 1938, in Nancy, Ky., son of the late Howard and Hazel Hislope Daulton. He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church, where he was Head Usher for many years. Weylan was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and a graduate of Nancy High School Class of 1956. He was Owner Operator of Daulton Surveyor.

Weylan passed away surrounded by his children and family whom he loved and cherished. His greatest love was his wife, his children, and his grandchildren. Weylan thought that love and compassion was a necessity of life. He was always willing to reach out to others and help them and he unconditionally loved all the people in his life. His family made him feel happy and content. Weylan was always there for others to raise their spirits with his infectious smile, laughter and positive attitude. Weylan was a retired builder and land surveyor and he was responsible for the surveying of many properties across Pulaski County. He enjoyed mowing his yard and took pride in keeping his landscaping groomed. He loved playing pool with his friends. He loved all sports and could always be found watching games on Sundays. Weylan’s memory will live on through the lives he touched.

He is survived by two sons, Gary (Alice) Daulton of Somerset and John (Mary Beth) Daulton of Somerset; two daughters, Kathy (Jeff) Roberts of Somerset and Brenda Monopole of Cincinnati, OH; one brother, Donovan Daulton of Lexington; two sisters, Jonell (J.P.) Wiles of Somerset and Lana (Charlie) Baker of Eubank; nine grandchildren, Abbey Daulton, Drew Daulton, Josh (Andrea) Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Jaylan Roberts, Danielle Daulton, Ryan Daulton, Morgan Smith and Mackenzie Smith; five great-grandchildren, Tucker, Baleigh, Clara Grace, Kendall and Brody; two sisters-in-law, Rose Daulton of Nancy and Freda Daulton of Nancy.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Ping Daulton; one daughter, Lutie Shelton; two brothers, Sherrill Daulton and Walter Daulton, and a brother-in-law, Joe Randall.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 26, 2016 from 5PM until 8PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 27, 2016 at 2PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating.

Burial will be in the Whitis Cemetery.
