Doris Jane Daulton, age 74, of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 at her residence.

Doris was born on January 26, 1942, in Somerset, Ky., daughter of the late William and Nora Colyer Ping. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. Doris was equally kind and loyal as she was hardworking and generous. She loved her family beyond everything, but easily welcomed strangers into her fold. She loved flowers and cooking fabulous dishes with no recipe. Doris also enjoyed shopping, but only for bargains and rarely for herself. She retired from Kroger as a Deli Manager, where her co-workers and customers were very dear to her.

She is survived by her husband, Weylan Daulton; two sons, Gary (and Alice) Daulton of Somerset and John (and Mary Beth) Daulton of Somerset; one daughter, Kathy (and Jeff) Roberts of Somerset; three brothers, Don (and Linda) Ping, Gerald Ping and Richard Ping, all of Somerset; six sisters, Delorse Ping, Alberta (and Howard) Miller, Marie Hudson, Thelma Phillips, Linda Mefford and Loraine (and Charles) Whitaker, all of Somerset; nine grandchildren, Abbey Daulton, Drew Daulton, Josh (and Andrea) Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Jaylan Roberts, Danielle Daulton, Ryan Daulton, Mackenzie Smith and Morgan Smith; five great-grandchildren, Tucker, Baleigh, Clara Grace, Kendall and Brody; her in-laws, who she loved as her own family, Jonell (and J.P) Wiles, of Somerset, Lana (and Charlie) Baker of Eubank, Donovan Daulton of Lexington, Freda Daulton and Rose Daulton, both of Nancy; She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Howard and Hazel Daulton, and two brothers-in-law, Sherrill Daulton and Walter Daulton.

Visitation will be on Tuesday April 12, 2016 from 5pm until 8p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2016 at 2p.m. in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gary Phelps officiating.

Burial will follow in the Whitis Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
