Elaine Kay Sammons, age 65, of the Garland Bend Community, passed from this life on Friday, February 26, 2016, at her home.

Elaine was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 28, 1950, daughter of the late Joseph and Billie Hudson Miller.

She was a retired professional caterer. Elaine loved reading and watching old movies. She loved Elvis and listening to his music. Elaine loved gardening and tending her house plants. She loved taking care of her grandbabies and was honored to care for her elderly mother until her passing. Elaine was of the Catholic faith.

She is survived by her children, Ted (and Amy) Ramsey, of Burnside, Dawn Baker, also of Burnside, and Cory (and Tracy) Ramsey, of Cincinnati; her sister, Jewell Cordes, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Josh (and Nicole) Ramsey, Tony (and Hunter) Pace, Joey Ramsey, Daniel Ramsey, Hudson Ramsey, Abby “Elaine” Ramsey, Kaleb Ramsey and Brittney O’Conner; her great-grandchildren, Chris Beard, Alexis Ramsey, Chance Ramsey, Kayden Ramsey and Sybel O’Conner; and a friend who Elaine loved like a sister, Christina Mills, of Mt. Zion.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home chapel, at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, with Bro. Perry Dobbs officiating.
