Bonnie Lee Cook (McCoy), 94, of Somerset, passed away Saturday, January 16, 2016 in Somerset.

She was born in Clarksville, Texas on January 11, 1922 to Walter and Mattie Lou McCoy, and grew up in Turkey, Texas. She was a veteran of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps during World War II, and most recently retired from Adanta Community Mental Health Center, a non-profit mental health clinic in Somerset.

She is survived by her many friends and family members including but definitely not limited to Michael (Donna) Burdine, Jeff (Lisa) Burdine, Karyn Burdine, Sandy (Tom) Adams, Teresa Cook, Barbara DeBord; her grandchildren, Roy (Nora) Cook, Sarah Cook, Matthew Cook, Zachary Cook, Chris Burdine, April Burdine, Jennifer Bailey, Leslee Burdine, Kayla Roberts, Christopher Dawes, Kristye Hanna, Kasey Greene, Katrina Greene, Joshua (Tracy) Davis, and Kylie (Simon) Ramirez; and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Cook, husband, Roy Cook and partner, Kelly Burdine.

A funeral service was held at 12 p.m. Monday, January 25, 2016 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, with Bro. Phil Scott officiating.

Burial was in Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, following the service.
