Carl “David” Jones, age 62, of Eubank, passed away Monday, December 7, 2015, at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington.

David was born on August 24, 1953, in Pulaski County, to the late Clarence “Tiny” and Joan Hargis Jones. He married Virginia Phillips on August 23, 1985, in Eubank. He worked for 27 years at the North Point Training Center, before retiring. David enjoyed being outdoors; he loved to go fishing and hunting. He enjoyed going shopping. David was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Masonic Order #273 of Prestonsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; his brother, Jimmy (and Cathy) Jones, of Science Hill; his mother-in-law, Zella Phillips; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lowell (and Kaye) Phillips, of Eubank, Janet (and Steve) Spears, of Science Hill, Donnie (and Amy) Phillips, of Burnside, and Randy Phillips, of Beech Grove; nieces, Misty (and David) Tingle and Brittany Phillips; nephews, Chad Spears and Ryan Phillips; great nieces and nephews; and many friends, Max Crabtree, Annette Brann, Roger and Loretta Crabtree, Shelia Chaney and Kathy Whitaker.

David is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 10, 2015, from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m., in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m., with Bro. Darrell Bunch and Bro. Rick Reynolds officiating.
Barty Bullock will provide a musical selection.

Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Izz Hines, David Kramer, Doug McKee, Max Crabtree, Lowell Phillips, Ryan Phillips, Mike Webb and David Tingle.
