Robert Lee “Bob” Russell, age 78, of Burnside, formerly of Cincinnati, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Robert was born on November 1, 1937, in Logan County, West Virginia, to the late Mr. and Mrs. James Alvin and Lucy Ellen Russell.

He was a retired auto mechanic for Carter’s Marathon, in Cincinnati. He attended The Creek Baptist Church and Eagle Heights Church. Robert was a member of the Lake Cumberland Squares and the Somer-Sets Squares Dance Clubs.

He is survived by his daughter, Velvet (and Andy) Andrews, of Cincinnati; his step-son, Jaimie Barnes, of Cincinnati; his fiancé, Judy Mounce Fitzsimons, of Somerset; his brother, Billy Ray (and Debbie) Russell, of Logan, West Virginia; his sisters, Sarah Elizabeth (and Walter) Sullins, of West Virginia, and Murial Kay (and Melvin) Meade, of Chapmanville, West Virginia; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carole Maupin Russell; his step-son, George Barnes; his brother, Roosevelt “Buddy” Russell; and his sister, Rosella Carpenter.

A visitation for family and friends will be on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at 5:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m., with Melvin Meade officiating.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., in Graceland Memorial Gardens, in Milford, Ohio.

Interment will be in the Graceland Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Gideons Memorial Bible Fund.
