Samuel Chaffin Galloway, Jr., age 69, of Bronston, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Sam was born in Detroit, Michigan, on November 26, 1945, to the late Samuel Chaffin Galloway, Sr. and June Shadow Galloway. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country during the Vietnam War. Sam earned his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Kentucky. He was retired from the Kentucky Department of Children and Family Services.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Lynn Galloway; his sister, Susie Lewis, of Somerset; sisters-in-law, Sue (and Lee) Shepard, of Batavia, Ohio, Phyllis Watters, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and Mary Ann Tucker (wife of the late, Gerstel Tucker), of Riverdale, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Lana (and Jim) Hoobler, of Columbus, Ohio, Preston (and Donna) West, of Batavia, Ohio, Keith (and Layna) West, of Amelia, Ohio, and Cindy Watters, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Pam (and Jim) Musco, of Suwanee, Georgia, and Laura (and Randy) Ward, of Riverdale, Georgia; and great-nieces and nephews, Jill (and Eric) Rouse, Kay Hoobler, Joey West, Tracy Proud, Holly Chadwell, Riley Dail, Beth Ann Strunk, Emily Musco, Caroline Musco and Derrick Ward.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Eva Tucker; and his nephew, Eric Brown.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

His funeral service will follow the visitation in the funeral home chapel, at 6:00 p.m.. A private interment will be in Mill Springs National Cemetery at a later date.
