Rebecca Murphy, age 46, of Somerset, passed away on Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Ephraim McDowell Medical Center, in Danville.

Rebecca was born on April 30, 1969, in Somerset, the daughter of the late Eunice and Anna Mae Haste Wesley. She married her high school sweetheart and best friend, John Murphy, while still in school. Rebecca was an employee of Backyard Burgers, of Somerset. She loved to go fishing and camping. Rebecca enjoyed being with family and having get-togethers, especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She is survived by her husband, John; their children, Johnathan Jacob Murphy and Natasha Lynn Murphy; her brothers, Ray (and his wife, Teresa) Wesley, Donald (and his wife, Charlene) Wesley and Hobert Wesley, all of Eubank; her sisters, Irene (and her husband, Rich) Dykehouse, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Mary Wesley (and her fiancé, Rick Gabehart), of Campbellsville; and numerous nieces and nephews, all who mourn her passing.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Carroll Wesley and Thomas Edward Wesley, who died in infancy.

Visitation for Rebecca will be on Friday, November 20, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Stanley Sears officiating.

Interment will be in Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rebecca Murphy Memorial Fund.
