Lori Ann Doppelheuer-Kearney, age 35, of Maysville, formerly of Somerset, departed this life on October 20, 2015, in Maysville.

Lori was born on November 11, 1979, in Lexington, to Robert D. and Ann Shumate Doppelheuer.

Even as a child, Lori took interest in working with her hands, such as helping her dad rebuild Jeeps and drywall finishing. She loved being outdoors, especially going water-rafting, and had a great love for life. Lori was a U.S. Marine Corps combat veteran, serving her country in the Iraq War. She was the senior Vice-Commander of the Maysville VFW Post #2734.

She is survived by her fiancé, Chris Hargis; her father, Bobby D. (and Susan) Doppelheuer; her mother, Ann Shumate Doppelheuer; her son, Gavin Hargis; her daughters, Makayla Kearney and Sara Hargis; her brother, Eddy Meek; her sister, Kimberly Doppelheuer; her nieces and nephews, Lyndsey (and Alec) Lewis, Ryan Meek, Christian Mauney, Noah Bradford and Abbie Grayce Bradford; twin great nieces, Brynlee and Jessa Lewis; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.Preceding Lori in death are her grandmothers, Lillian Doppelheuer and Mary Shumate.

Lori’s three sons, Christopher Kearney, Eagan Hargis and Kieran Hargis accompanied her in death.

Visitation for Lori and her boys will be held Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, and on Sunday, October 25, from 9:00 a.m. until time for funeral services.

The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, October 25, 2015, in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Grant Hardwick, Bro. Jeff Lockard and Bro. Scott Tipton officiating. Interment will be in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
