Marjorie Anna Huddleston VanHook, age 95, of Shepherdsville, formerly of Somerset, died Saturday, October 9, 2015, at the Georgetown Manor Nursing Home, in Louisville.

She was born August 7, 1920, the daughter of Bill and Nellie Huddleston.

Marjorie married John David VanHook on July 3, 1937.           To this union four children were born, John David VanHook, Jr., Margaret Bell, Barbara Thompson and Freda McLealand.

She was a Christian and a member of the Baptist Church in Shepherdsville.           She enjoyed quilting and her flower garden, and loved reading Zane Grey books.

Marjorie is survived by her four children; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Ethel Hansford and Wilma Muse, both of Somerset. Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, John David VanHook; one sister, Edna Lowhorn; and four brothers, Lloyd, Charles, George and Eugene Huddleston.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015, from 11am until 12 noon, in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Her funeral service will follow the visitation at 12 noon, in the Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Muse officiating.

Burial will be in the Somerset Cemetery.
