Delores Ann Shoemaker, age 82, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Tuesday September 1, 2015 at North Hardin Health and Rehab Center in Radcliff, KY.

She was born on June 28, 1933 in Bowling Green, KY., to the late Jacob and Ruby Groseclose Harrod.

She was a member of High Street Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelors Degree in Art, a former member of the Hazard Garden Club, and a former member of the Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of the Kentucky Craft Guild, enjoyed sewing, was a doll maker, and she was the designer of Ann Made-Plain Folk Dolls. She was also the former owner and operator of Ann’s Boutique in Hazard, KY.
Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Richard Shoemaker and her parents, Jacob and Ruby Harrod.
She is survived by three sons, Barry Shoemaker of Somerset, KY; Neal (and Sheryl) of Somerset, KY; and Dale Shoemaker of Somerset, KY; one daughter, Denise (and David) Miller of Cecilia, KY; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday September 6, 2015 from 12pm to 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday September 6, 2015 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Amundson officiating.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday September 8, 2015 at 11am at Mill Springs National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the High Street Baptist Church Building Fund.
