Anna Lee King, age 78, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Saturday July 25, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on August 31, 1936 in Nancy, KY., to the late William Elwood Burton and Audie Elizabeth Calhoun Burton.
She was of the Baptist Faith and loved listening to music, eating out in restaurants, and loved talking to people.
Anna Lee was preceded in death by her husband, James “Junior” King, her parents, William and Audie Burton, two brothers, Kenny Burton and William “Billy” Dave Burton, an infant brother, two sisters, Alma Bray and Maudie Bray, two grandchildren, Brandy Leigh King and James C. “Jaimy” King, two nephews, Ronald Dewayne Burton and Roy Bray, and two grandchildren, Tabitha Schmitt and Heather Schmitt.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary King of Somerset, KY; a distant daughter, Debbie Schmitt of Springfield, IL; one sister, Edna Bullock; a granddaughter, Erica Schmitt, one grandson, six nieces, Shirley Bullock and Judy Bell, both of Kentucky; Sue Bray of Illinois; Joyce Bray, and Zelpha (and Cole) King and Linda Bray, five nephews, Robert Burton of Somerset, KY; Tim Miller and Ricky Miller, both of Illinois; and Don Bray and Bruce Bray, both of Illinois, one great niece, Teresa Burton Hansel of Somerset, KY; one sister-in-law, Verneda Burton, and three special friends, Roy Weddle, Ronald Henderson, and Patty Miller. She fought so hard for so long because she didn’t want to leave me, Mary. And when I finally told her “it was ok,” the angels called her home.
Visitation for Anna Lee will be held on Monday August 3, 2015 after 4pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jamie Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in Southern Oaks Cemetery.
