Cecil James Sears, age 81, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Friday July 24, 2015 at his residence.

He was born on September 14, 1933 in the Colo Community of Pulaski County, KY., to the late Charlie and Lena Phelps Sears. He was a retired Logger for Sears Logging. He was of Baptist Faith and enjoyed gardening, fishing, horseback riding, and loved family time and family gatherings.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lena Sears, five brothers, Benny Sears, Carlos Sears, William Sears, Ray Sears, and Arnold Sears, and two sisters, Vonnie Bressler, and twin sister, Marie Sears.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Burchfield Sears of whom he married on April 19, 1957 in Jellico, TN; two sons, Bobby (and Tonya) Sears of Somerset, KY; and Vola Sears of Somerset, KY; five daughters, Margaret Bautista of Somerset, KY; Ruby (and Allen) Meece of Somerset, KY; Mary Sears of Somerset, KY; Martha Sears of Somerset, KY; and Phyllis Sears of Somerset, KY; one brother, John (and Ann) Sears of Somerset, KY; fifteen grandchildren, Amanda Gibson, James (and Amy) Meece, Linda Ann Meece (and Troy) Poole, Brenda Meece, Jessica Meece, Junior (and Chantel) Meece, Shane Meece, Scott Tomlinson, Johnathan Sears, Ricky (and Amanda) Sears, Kathy Sears, Hannah Sears, Rachael (and Johnathan) Farmer, Lena Sears, and Bobby Sears Jr., fourteen great-grandchildren, and Ona Sears, whom he loved as a daughter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday July 28, 2015 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 10am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Morris officiating.

Full Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post# 38 Honor Guard.

Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
