Joan Rose age 79 of Somerset, KY passed away on Sunday June 14, 2015 at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab Center.
She was born on September 12, 1935 in Nancy, KY to the late William and Bonnie Meece Burton.
Joan was a member of Pine Grove #2 Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and loved to cook, read and spend time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bonnie Burton; her husband, Wesley Harold Rose; one son, Ernest “Jr” Weddle and two sisters, Pauline Mathis and Kay Rainwater.
She is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Taskel Evans of Rosewell, New Mexico and Wesley Scott Rose of Somerset, KY; two daughters, Lynthia (Lynn) Dowdy of Somerset, KY and Julie Alice Donahue of Somerset, KY; two brothers, Billy Lee Burton and Larry Clay Burton; one sister, Christine Eastham; eleven grandchildren, Trinda, Michael, Christopher, Amanda, Casandra, Derrick, Sarah, Carrie, Aaron, Courtney and Sean and numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday June 17, 2015 after 11AM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at 1PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
