Clifford Eugene York, age 82, of Monticello, KY., passed away on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born on August 17, 1932 in Wallins Creek, KY., to the late Frank Murph and Meldia Clark York.
After working 30 years as a steel maker at US Steel, he retired in 1988. He served in the United States Navy during the Korea Conflict. He enjoyed fishing, camping, the outdoors, and eating shrimp.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Meldia Clark York.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Claudette Hansel York, of whom he married on November 23, 1956 in Jonesville, VA and were married for 58 years. Like a daughter; Lisa Ranee (and Joe) Ramirez of Texas, one great niece; Kimberly Nicole Tolliver of Mississippi, one sister; Eveline Tolliver of Somerset, KY., one nephew; Howard Tolliver of Mississippi, and friends; Joy Blair of Wayne County, Don (and Jone) Lloyd of Tennessee, and Bonnie (and Pete) Russell of Somerset, KY.
Visitation will be held on Friday May 22, 2015 from 10am to 12pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday May 22, 2015 at 12pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Howard and Bro. David Muse officiating.
Pall Bearers will be: Don Lloyd, Joe Ramirez, Lloyd Hardy, Pete Russell, and Roger Hardy.
Burial will follow in Mill Springs National Cemetery.
