Wilma Phelps age 83 of Somerset, KY passed away on Saturday May 16, 2015 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on May 26, 1931 in the Bent Community of Pulaski Co. KY to the late John Lee and Lina Alexander Bray.
Wilma was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, gardening and watching UK Basketball.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lina Bray; her husband, Glendon Phelps, three brothers, Bullard Bray, Ollie James Bray and Alfrord J. Bray; four sisters, Amanda Katherine Bray, Barbara Jean Bray, Betty Wilson Dunn and Golda Taylor.
She is survived by one son, Barry W. (Carol) Phelps of the Acorn Ano Community; one daughter, Vera (Dale) Tomlinson of Sulpher Springs Community; four grandchildren, Ryan (Ashley) Phelps, Rebecca (Jordan) Wright, Brandon Tomlinson and Jimmy (Jennifer) Tomlinson, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Also survived by a close friend and neighbor, Mary Grogan of the Sulpher Springs Community.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 19, 2015 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Lonnie Sewell officiating.
Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
