Jerry Lane Noe age 67 of Somerset, KY passed away on Saturday May 2, 2015 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on June 10, 1947 in Somerset, KY to the late Howard Lane and Elva Hart Noe.
Jerry was a member of the First Baptist Church. After serving twenty-two years as Patrolman, he retired from the Somerset Police Department. He had a Bachelor’s Degree in History and was certified for Secondary Education, graduated from the Criminal Justice Training at E.K.U. and was a Charter Member of the Mill Springs Battlefield Association where he also served on the Board of Directors. Jerry enjoyed, golfing and the outdoors. He participated in Civil War Reenacting and was very knowledgeable in World History. He enjoyed traveling, especially in his RV and had a soft heart for animals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Elva Noe and his father-in-law, Clyde Cooper.
He is survived by his wife, Lana Noe of Somerset, KY; one daughter, Stephanie Barker of Somerset, KY; one sister, Kathy (Pat) Hibbard of Somerset, KY; one grandson, Zachary Barker; two nieces, Kay (Jimmy) Hafley of Somerset, KY and Michelle (Sheldon) Hatcher of Somerset, KY and his mother-in-law, Pansy Cooper of Somerset, KY.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 6, 2015 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday May 7, 2015 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Messer officiating.
Burial will follow in the Science Hill Cemetery. Full Police Military Honors will be conducted by the Somerset City Police Honor Guard.
