Ruby Joyce ”Granny” Whitis, age 78, of Somerset, KY., entered this life on November 30, 1936 in the community of Public, KY. Our sweet little Mama entered into eternal peace and went home to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday March 26, 2015.
She was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Helen Inabnitt.
She was married to the late Ray Whitis on November 7, 1958 and they were married for 48 years.
She was a charter member of True House of Prayer and she enjoyed the services. She loved the Lord, spending time with her family, and her beloved dog, Molly. She was a very kind, gentle lady, always loving and generous. She was always giving to others.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Lloyd and Helen Inabnitt; her loving husband, Ray Whitis; two brothers, Ledell Inabnitt and Paul Inabnitt; and one sister, Wilma Inabnitt.
She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her loving children, one son, Dennis (and Paula) Whitis; two daughters, Donna (and Ronny) Warren; and Patty (and Keith) Whitaker; all of Somerset, KY. A special daughter-in-law, Paula Whitis, six grandchildren, Dustin Whitis, LaDawna (and Lucas) Tucker, Joey Whitis, Ryan Warren, Heather Whitis (and Nilmon Lee), and Drew Whitaker. Also, five special great-grandchildren that brought her so much joy: Becca, Sara, Azlynn, James, and Aneira; her adoring niece, Linda Inabnitt, as well as many more nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Saturday March 28, 2015 at 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Bledsoe and Bro. Mahan Smith officiating.
Pallbearers will include; Dustin Whitis, Joey Whitis, Ryan Warren, Drew Whitaker, Nilmon Lee, and Lucas Tucker.
Burial will follow in Pine Thicket Cemetery.
