Helen Burton Ard, age 67, of Somerset, KY passed away on Saturday March 7, 2015 at her residence.
She was born on February 14, 1948 to the late Beecher and Thelma Waldrip Burton in the Trimble Community in Pulaski County, KY. She was a member of West Somerset Baptist Church for over 45 years. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s ball games, serving the children at Hopkins Elementary School, bluegill fishing, mowing her lawn, playing cards, especially Rook, and also enjoyed spending time with her dog, Chance.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband; Leslie Ard of whom she married on June 12, 1965 in Somerset, KY., three brothers; Bobby Burton, Lonnie Burton, and Dwaineth Burton, and one grandchild; Tia Miche Ard.
She is survived by one son; Leslie Eugene “Gene” Ard of Nancy, KY., one daughter; Debbie Ard of Somerset, KY., one brother; Donnie (and Beverly) Burton of somerset, KY., three sisters; Wanda Ard of Somerset, KY., Carolyn Weston of Nancy, KY., and Doris Burton of Somerset, KY., four grandchildren; Zach Eastham, Nakkita Shy Ard, Hunter Brent Ard, and Canyon Smith, and one great-grandchild; Kayden Stevenson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 10, 2015 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2015 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Butte officiating.
Burial will follow in Ringgold Cemetery.
