He was born on May 7, 1942 in Alpine, KY to the late Cherful and Ruby Hoff Haynes. He attended Bethel Baptist Church in Blue John, KY., and enjoyed hunting, dog trading, and guns.
Jerry was preceded in death by his wife; Jean Hussin Haynes, one son; Jeremy Haynes, one daughter; Tara Davis, one brother; Guy Lee Haynes three sisters; Joan Decker, Joyce Shelton, and Sylvia McDowell, and one grandchild; Bailey Jean Haynes.
He is survived by two grandchildren; Brenton Haynes and Harley Davis, three brothers; Terry (and Ruth) Haynes of Sloans Valley, KY., Bobby Haynes of Sulfur, LA., and Jacky Haynes of Somerset, KY., and two sisters; Jill (and James) Cole of Bronston, KY. and Sharon (and Bill) Laswell of Bronston, KY.
Graveside Service will be held on Thursday March 5, 2015 at 1:30pm at Mill Springs National Cemetery with Bro. Walter Walden officiating. Full Military Honors provided by the American Legion Honor Guard Post# 38.
