Delphene Whitaker age 89 of Somerset, KY passed away on Friday February 27, 2015 at her residence.
She was born on October 16, 1925 in Acorn, KY to the late Nip and Matilda Whitaker Harris.
Delphene was a homemaker and enjoyed flea marketing, gardening, spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Nip and Matilda Harris; her husband, Edsel Whitaker; six brothers, Eugene Harris, Bearl Harris, Clifford Harris, Cooper Harris, Bethel Harris and Gerald Harris and one sister, Kersey Bray.
She is survived by three sons, Bobby Dale Whitaker of Somerset, KY; Billy (and Linda) Whitaker of Somerset, KY and Burnis Lee (and JoAnn) Whitaker of Somerset, KY; one daughter, Alma (and Harold) Harris of Somerset, Ky; one sister, Buean Simpson of Somerset, KY. Also survived by five grandchildren, Jim (and Michelle) Harris, Mickey Sears, Tim Harris, Teresa (and Shannon) Heath and Tracy (and Jamie) Whitaker; six great- grandchildren, Josh (and Angie) Harris, Andrew Harris, Holden Heath, Garrett Heath, Jaxon Whitaker and Kaitlyn; four great-great-grandchildren, Holly Harris, Hailey Harris, Jacob Harris and Casen Findling.
Visitation will be held on Sunday March 1, 2015 after 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday March 1, 2015 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Harris and Bro. Jim Harris officiating.
Burial will be in the Renfro Cemetery with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
