James “Jimmy” Dick age 69 of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
He was born on May 4, 1945 in Eubank, Ky to James M. And Pearl Renner Dick.
Jimmy was a member of New Direction Worship Center. He was a retired Physical Therapist Assistant and enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, playing softball, family time and UK Basketball. Jimmy also enjoyed driving the church bus until his sickness.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Pearl Dick. Seven brothers, Bill Dick, Jack Dick, Curtis Dick, James Dick, Carroll Dick, Donald Dick, Earl Dick and four sisters, Roberta New, Dorothy Relliford, Cleda E. Reid and Thelma H. Wall.
He is survived by his wife Verna Edwards Dick of Somerset, Ky. One son, Eddie (Kathy) Dick of Somerset, Ky. One daughter, Makayla Debbie Dick of Somerset, Ky. Two sisters, Emma (Fonza) McGuffey of Waynesburg, Ky. and Regina Agee of Eubank, Ky and three grandchildren, Ty Dick, Justin Dick and Jenna Dick.
Visitation will be held on Thursday February 5, 2015 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday February 6, 2015 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Cox, Bro. Eddie Dick, Bro. Jeff Griffith and Bro. Jamie Taylor officiating.
Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dean Harness, Ty Dick, Sonny Fitzpatrick, Nick Renaker, Dewayne Woodall and John Engle. Honorary Pallbearers will be Justin Dick, Jerry Foster and JR Carter.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or the Building Fund of New Direction Worship Center C/O Bro. Eddie Dick 2120 Sunday Dr. Somerset, Ky. 42501.
