Wayne Slavey age 75 of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Sunday November 23, 2014 at his residence.
He was born on February 28, 1939 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Orville and Geneva Glover Slavey.
Wayne was a member of Sweeney Chapel Baptist Church and he enjoyed watching UK Basketball, hunting and fishing..
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Doris Slavey. One daughter, Patricia Barron; one brother, James Slavey and two sisters, Loretta Slavey and Jean Brown.
He is survived by two sons, Larry (and Lyn) Slavey of Somerset, Ky. and Ricky (and Carmen) Slavey of Jacksonville, Fla. Four daughters, Sherry Brake of Somerset, Ky., Jennifer (and Lindsey) Glover of Somerset, Ky., Kristi (and Lee) Vanover of Somerset, Ky, and Stacie Vanover of Somerset, Ky. Three brothers, Floyd Slavey of Somerset, Ky., Orville Slavey Jr. of Somerset, Ky. and Ronnie Slavey of Somerset, Ky. Two sisters, Ona Brown of Somerset, Ky. and Linda Slavey of Somerset, Ky. Also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday November 26, 2014 after 4pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will follow on Wednesday November 26, 2014 at 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Meece and Bro. Roger Wright officiating.
