Robert “RT” Ard, age 87 of Ferguson, KY., passed away on Thursday October 9, 2014 at Cumberland Rehab and Nursing in Somerset, KY.
He was born on April 30, 1927 in Faubush, KY to the late Terril Ard and Otha Ard Pierce.
Robert was the Councilman of Ferguson, KY. He was of Baptist Faith and attended Carter Ridge Baptist Church. He enjoyed home renovations, working on cars, and liked to read and watch tv.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Terril Ard and Otha Ard Pierce and two brothers, Garvel Ard and Warren Ard.
He is survived by his wife Lillie Harness Ard, two sons, John (Sarah) Ard of Burlington, KY., one daughter, Beverly Quinette of Florida, three sisters, Mavis Wesley of Somerset, KY., Lois Paro of Middling, MI., Bernice Gregory of Somerset, KY., and three grandchildren, Miles T. Ard and Lillie Ard, both of Burlington, KY., and Jonathon Quinette.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 13, 2014 after 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Cemetery.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday October 13, 2014 at 12pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Chaplain Greg Ryan officiating.
Burial will follow in the Carter Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Carter Ridge Cemetery fund, C/O of Southern Oaks Funeral Home 2110 West Hwy 914 Somerset, KY 42503.
