John “Red” Williamson age 76 of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Thursday October 9, 2014 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on September 19, 1938 in Sloans Valley, Ky. to the late Carl and Maudie Dobbs Williamson.
John was a member of Sloans Valley Baptist Church. He was a retired coal miner and enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Maudie Williamson. Six brothers, Charles Harold Williamson, Lowell Thomas Williamson, Lee Edward Williamson, James Everett Williamson, Linville Williamson and Linden Williamson. One sister, Margaret Louise Cook.
He is survived by three brothers, Joe Williamson of Bronston, Ky., Dale Williamson of Mt. Victory, Ky. and George Williamson of White Lily, Ky. One sister, Mary Cook of White Lily, Ky. and a special niece, Anna Suttles who he loved like a daughter. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday October 13, 2014 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday October 14, 2014 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Harold Harris officiating.
Burial will follow in the Sloans Valley Cemetery.
