William Ertis “Mack” McGowan, age 75 of Somerset, KY passed away on Saturday September 13, 2014 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.
He was born on January 11, 1939 to the Joe and Evada Wilson McGowan.
William was of Baptist Faith and enjoyed gardening, his animals, watching KY Wildcats, and wrestling.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Joe and Evada McGowan. One brother; Wesley McGowan and one sister; Darlene Lyons.
He is survived by the Mother of his children, Joanna Roy McGowan Brinson of Somerset, KY, two sons; Royce (Selina) McGowan of Nancy, KY and William Jr. (Amanda) McGowan of Somerset, KY. Two daughters; Teresa (David Ashton) Dick of the Bandy Community and Francis (Gary) Hines of Eubank, KY. Two brothers; Keith Flannigan of Nancy, KY and Don (Kay) McGowan of Nancy, KY. Six grandchildren; Regina McGowan, Tyler McGowan, Travis McGowan, Parker McGowan, Jacob Ashton, and Brittany McGowan. One great-grandchild; Tyson McGowan and a special cousin; Delno Wilson of Nancy, KY.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday September 16, 2014 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday September 17, 2014 at 10am in the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Brother Gilbert Robinson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Old Mt. Pleasant Point Cemetery in Nancy, KY.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Old Mt. Pleasant Point Cemetery.
