Robert Wendell Brown age 83 of Somerset, Ky passed away on Saturday September 13, 2014 at Georgetown Community Hospital in Georgetown, KY.
He was born to the late Claude and Sallie Minshull Brown.
Robert received Christ as his Savior in 1972. He attended Southside Church of Christ and had also formerly served as a deacon in church. He enjoyed gardening, carpentry, grandchilderen, and his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Claude and Sallie Brown. Two brothers; Elmer Brown and Grover Brown. One sister; Evelyn Yanders.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Donica Brown, of whom he married on Ocotober 4, 1952 and was married to for almost 62 years.
He is also survived by Four sons; Michael Dale (Barbara) Brown of Casey County, KY. Robert W. Jr. (Sharon) of Campbellsville, KY. Derek Dee (Janice) Brown of Somerset, KY and Robin Lee (Donna) of Elizabeth, KY. Nine grandchildren; Casey E. Humphrey, Tyler Steven Brown, Laura Susan Hollenboch, Daniel Robin Brown, Lauren Victoria Brown, Joshua Derek Brown, Michael Thomas Brown, Eric Chase Brown, and Zachary Sean Brown. He is also survived by seven Great-grandchildren; Bradley Brown, Bryan Humphrey, Matiline Hollenboch, Landrey Brown, Skylar Brown, Matelene Brown, and Jasper Humphrey.
Visitation will be held on Sunday September 14, 2014 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday September 15, 2014 at 2pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Shawn Bain officiating. Robert’s grandsons will serve as leading Pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Legion Post 38 Honor Guard.
