Barnell “Spider” Edens, age 68 of Somerset passed away on Saturday July 26, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Mr. Edens was born on August 12, 1945 to Dennie Edens and the late Roxie Dick Edens in the Vaught Ridge Community. Mr. Edens was a Vietnam Veteran, retired U.S postal mail carrier, and graduate of Eubank High School class of 1963.
He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, laughing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
He leaves behind to his memory, his wife, Connie Hodge Edens; father, Dennie Edens; sons, Robert Lee Edens (Mary) of Shopville, Gerald Robert Edens (Tiffany Slavey) of Dabney, Kentucky; daughter, Malisa Caldwell (Tim) of Dabney, Kentucky; brothers, Boyd Edens (Elaine) of Somerset, Charlie (Shirley) Edens of Somerset, and Gerald (Sharon) Edens of Science Hill, Kentucky; sisters, Mildred Jean Cash of Milford, Ohio and Eula Morgan (Jay) of Tennessee; Grandchildren, Jennifer Caldwell, Justin Edens, Kristina Watson, Katelyn Edens, Madison Slavey, Ashlee Slavey, Christopher Caldwell, and Zachary Caldwell; great grandchildren, Jerah Caldwell, Jaxon Caldwell and Jakob Caldwell.
Visitation for Mr. Edens will be Monday July 28, 2014 at 6 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday July 29, 2014 at 1 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Interment will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
