Gilla Mae Glover King age 83 of Knoxville, Tn. and formerly of the Drum Community in Pulaski Co. passed away on Wednesday July 23, 2014 at the Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.

She was born on February 22, 1931 in the Drum Community to the late Reece and Gillie Meece Glover.

Gilla was a member of the Hillside Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tn. She was a retired presser for Modern Dry Cleaning and enjoyed her grandchildren, working, puzzle books and reading her Bible.

She is preceded in death by her parents. Her first husband, James “Peanut” Glover and her second husband, Charles King. One son, Garry E. Glover. Two sisters, Martha McDonald and Gertrude Glover and one grandchild, Sherry Glover.

She is survived by six daughters, Glenda (Jackie) Phelps of Somerset, Ky.; Scottie (Michael) Shelton of Burnside, Ky.; Judy (Joe) Vinci of Knoxville, Tn.; Mayetta (Roger) Traux of Knoxville, Tn.; Martha Perry of Lafollette, Tn. and Lois (Earl) Terry of Knoxville, Tn. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Saturday July 26, 2014 after 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 26, 2014 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Richards officiating.

Burial will follow in the Piney Grove Cemetery.
