Jackie McQueen, age 73 of Somerset passed away on Sunday June 1, 2014 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

He was born on May 8, 1941 in Somerset, Ky. to the late Jim and Ella Mattox McQueen.

Jackie was a member of Denham Street Baptist Church. He was a retired gas technician for the City of Somerset and enjoyed fishing, walking, arrowheads, collecting knives, model airplanes and loved his church.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Glenda McQueen. Two daughters, Kathy Baer and Sherry Lynn Stringer. One brother, James McQueen and two sisters, Christine Ledford and Charlene Huddleston. A son-in-law, Mike Baker and a great-grandson, Jordan Powers.

He is survived by one son, Rick (Judy) Stringer of Nancy, Ky. Two daughters, Beverly (Jim) Mitchell of Somerset, Ky, and Tina Baker of Somerset, Ky. One brother, Vernon (Vesta) McQueen of Somerset, Ky. and two sisters, Anita Cooper of Somerset, Ky. and Vernelle Walker of Somerset, Ky. Also survived by nine grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday June 3, 2014 after 5pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday June 4, 2014 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffith and Bro. David Muse officiating.

Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
